Chateau Guay Motel and Restaurant has been locally owned and operated by the Houle family since 1992. The Houles are originally from the New Liskeard area and still frequently visit the area during the summer while spending weekends visiting with local friends and family at their Lake Temiskaming cottage.
Before purchasing Chateau Guay, Denis Houle played professional hockey in Europe. The transition from professional sports to operating a business has been difficult however, as hockey was his passion, ensuring his guests in both the restaurant and motel is his passion now!
Denis and Francine have three boys, Matt, JF and Justin. JF also enjoyed a short pro career in hockey playing for the Brampton Battalion for two years. Hockey and terrific service could almost be considered a religion for the Houle family! Justin has been involved in the business since he was 12 years old and is working towards continuing to operate the family business after Denis and Francine retire. Matt is currently studying business at Laurentian University and has ambitions to pursue his own business ventures after graduation.
Extreme dedication is what separates Chateau Guay from the competition and allows them to maintain their long standing stellar reputation!
